On behalf of our client, a listed leader in the oil, gas and energy industry, with multinational presence and multiple subsidiaries, we are seeking a Senior Windows System Engineer to join their established team.

Role Summary

The ideal candidate will perform  Senior duties and will be responsible for  Installation, configuration, maintenance, support, and administration of servers, systems and networks both in house and in the cloud.

Key Accountabilities

• Manages IT infrastructure projects and works with all corporate departments and branch offices to investigate, review needs, obtain price quotes, make recommendations, coordinate the installation, and maintenance of systems and networks
• Performs duties of IT Services Section Head in his/her absence
• Designs and supports infrastructure installations (systems, networks, telecommunications, internet and supporting systems software), monitors systems performance and performs load balancing where needed
• Oversees service and maintenance from vendors and consultants and serves as a liaison to them for systems installation, maintenance, problem resolution and upgrades of installed hardware and systems, application and data communications software
• Creates and maintains users on the network, company web and intranet servers; assigning application access, ensuring security, and maintaining that configurations are within standards
• Collaborates and coordinates the technical support specialists to problem solve, maintain and upgrade company’s IT infrastructure
• Assists the IT Services Section Head in systems and networks capacity planning and design of new and expanded infrastructure technology.
• Anticipates future growth needs and obstacles and formulates task teams to solve any raised technical issue
• Performs authorized changes to systems software, which correct inconsistencies and malfunctions as necessary
• Coordinates and installs software upgrades and performs and documents authorized changes to systems software and hardware, to correct inconsistencies and malfunctions as necessary, according to standards/procedures
• Monitors and reports licenses on software packages to ensure compliance
• Coordinates systems backup including installation and upgrading of backup software and hardware and implements data integrity procedures
• Develops and maintains systems, networks and internet technical and maintenance documentation, and applies IT security policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

•  BSc/MSc  in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or other related fields
• 5+ years’ experience and strong knowledge of MS Windows for Servers administration
• Experience with Virtual Servers (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Configuration, management and monitoring of cloud services
• Telecommunications and data networking
• Technical knowledge on Office365, SAP/Hana and Database administration  especially in MSSQL will be considered as a plus
• Any relevant Microsoft Certifications  will be considered as a plus
• Fluency in English
